Black Friday isn’t only a time for finding Christmas deals for loved ones. It’s the perfect time to grab deals for my business. This photographer’s Black Friday wish list is filled with ideas to help you in your business. This list includes an eclectic mix of things so there is something for every stage in your photography journey. They are also all products or services that I personally use and love in my photography business.
Photographer’s Black Friday Top Priority: Plum Paper Planners
That’s right, it says planners. Plural. A good planner helps me stay organized in business and in life. I use two planners from Plum Paper. I love that Plum Paper has plenty of designs for covers but also for the planner layouts. No matter how you prefer to use your planner, there is a design that could work.
I order an 8.5×11 with the vertical priorities layout as my actual daily planner. Then I will choose a second monthly spreads-only planner in the 7×9 size for my content calendar.
Each year they typically have a 30-40% discount which makes this the photographer black Friday deal I’m most excited about. (Because isn’t a new planner and color-coded pens the best thing ever?!)
The Most Asked-About Backdrop
This year I changed from the pop-up backdrop to this Wescott X-drop system for all my school portraits and business headshots. Let me tell you. Every time I shared a behind-the-scenes photo I had photographers asking for a link.
Tired of my pop-up backdrop being warped, but not a fan of the pulling and stretching to get wrinkles out of the fabric options, I found the Wescott one just in time. I have loved how easy it is to set up.
A Year-End Photographer Must Have: The External Hard Drive that Lasts
Do you hate when you’re in the middle of the busy season and your external hard drive runs out of space? Me too. When a fellow photographer friend recommended this 5 TB External Hard Drive, I jumped on it. It may not be a true Black Friday wish list item for photographers, however, it is something you’ll need for the new year.
Client Proofing for Photographers: A Black Friday Deal
Black Friday offers you a time to take advantage of everyone’s sales, including things for client image proofing. I have been using ShootProof for over a decade as the way I deliver galleries to my photography clients. ShootProof usually has a great deal for upgrading your current plan to include more photos or for new customers. ShootProof is a great option for photographers wanting a clean interface that makes it easy for clients to download images, purchase prints, and share with friends and families.

Keep Connected to Your Clients With Flodesk
Over the past 14-plus years I have tried several email marketing companies and none have compared to Flodesk. Setting up nurture or welcome sequences, delivering freebies, and having segments for every part of your business is SO easy. Further, Flodesk makes the photographer’s Black Friday wish list because they are simple to use with beautiful designs. Whether you prefer clean and classic text only or graphics there are options for you.
Unsure what to send on your emails? I’ve got you covered there too.
Write Faster Emails with Liz Wilcox
Liz Wilcox’s Email Marketing Membership is my secret to staying consistent with my newsletter list. How? She provides weekly email templates so you can write an email in less than 20 minutes. Don’t worry, you get access to all her past emails, too. So if this week’s doesn’t fit right (which it usually does) there’s another one you can grab.
Her membership is aimed at helping business owners (like photographers) connect with customers and convert them into buyers. Plus she loves the 90s, so that’s always fun. You can join monthly for $9 or grab the year pass for tons of bonuses (like help writing that nurture sequence). Does this make your photographer wish list for Black Friday? Join here. You won’t regret it.
Whew, this photographer’s Black Friday wish list got a little longer than I expected! However, I hope you found one (or 5) opportunity to elevate your business before the year’s end.
